Need Advice from HS Coach Regarding HS / Travel Tournament Conflict

i read link provided above and don't really think that waiver would apply to travel ball tourney.

Never knew that, but do many districts enforce that?

I am in the LHV myself. My understanding is that this is a state wide rule. My DD's Org (which you know) basically has 14U and up shut down for the HS softball season.

USA softball for New Jersey not listing any tourneys in Mar or April that are leaping out at me as Elite??

It's in NJ for 10/12/14U. There are plenty of what I would consider "elite" TB teams and organizations playing in it.

Diamond Nation? I know they do one in April every year. But, it's 14U and under. Most girls are in 8th and 9th grade in 14U, so I can see why they would run it then.

actually, i'm in the travel takes priority camp.... BUT you better know the penalties and repercussions for breaking the participation rules and not playing HS ball.

My daughter is in 8th grade and will most likely be playing JV or Varsity softball this spring.

Your kid must be quite a player to be called up to Varsity as an eighth grader. It’s totally reasonable that she’s on a 14U team with games scheduled during the high school season since she’s still in middle school.

On the flip side, there’s no such thing as an important tournament in April. There might be a lot of teams signed up, but that’s just because it’s one of the first of the year.

Either way, I’d say she’s holding all the cards. Most TB orgs understand that a kid will miss games for school commitments. And the HS coach is probably starstruck/desperate enough that he’d let her slide.
