First tournament this coming weekend. It is a fundraiser tournament for the team so the field isn't great but they are playing 16's/18's. I suppose it is ok for a "warmup" tournament. They then play three weekends in the row, two tournaments (Top Club in OKC and Top Gun in KC) and a 3 day OU Team camp where they will play 4 games. The last 3 events should be competitive.

I have left her alone for the most part the last few months. Her setup has morphed into something quite similar to Manny Machado

with her handset getting lower than the last time I posted her swing. Even though you see very few girls setup like that, I am fine with it but she needs to be smoother with how she loads her hands from that lower handset..it is a bit "jerky" for a lack of a better word. That said I am tired of chasing rainbows with her..she will get it or she won't.

I will post swings as I get them. Even though my coach ban is over, I am probably not going to go to any games so this may be the only post in this thread :ROFLMAO: (at least you got to see a good looking Machado swing if that is the case..)

Scrimmage. Pitching was lousy(slow) and obviously cannot see most of the swing (guy sent me the video) but mainly encouraged that she is running better. She was laboring moving around for a while with that glute tendonitis but it seems to be better now (she says it is..) ...even though she doesn't bust it out of the box (don't get me started..she "coasts" too much out there imo but that is up to her to change..she has heard it enough from me by this point)

I never understood your feeling around watching and working with Marcela. Until DS started competitive hockey this year. Which is what I grew up doing (not baseball) and know inside and out. I totally get it now - 😂

Marcela will get there. She’s young. And that was a good hit (from my vantage point at least).

I found that Jayleen got to it at her own time. It’s only this year (and very recently) that the lightbulb clicked for her. Often times it requires failing for a little bit until she stops being hard headed and decides to listen. Now that she’s a little older and sees the results, it’s gotten a little easier.

Kind of.

I am sure you will be fine..There are plenty of professional athletes (most I would say) who are perfect sports parents so it has little to do with how much one knows and all about the 6 in between the ears of said parent..

She had a good weekend at the plate , hit the ball pretty hard 6 out of 10 ABs (with 1 cheap hit). They played up in 16’s/18’s but pitching was mediocre. That said she did what she should against mediocre pitching.

Pitching should be better next 3 weekends. Will see if current swing plays when facing better arms…🤷‍♂️
