Anyone been here before? They don't allow metal cleats per their facility rules. I was told that the fields are turf but was then told it has dirt infield and outfield turf. Is it all turf or what? Thanks

Been there many times it is all turf. Molded cleats seem to grip the bestZ. Beautiful complex. Nice small restaurant/bar in the dome. Concessions are expensive but nice variety. Bathrooms are great and accessible. Plenty of parking in a variety of locations so it’s close to every quad. Hotels are expensive right by the fields but nothing is far away so don’t be afraid to stay somewhere else. We often stay at the Hampton inn by the casino. Takes about 15min to the field from there.

I agree with everything said in this post. Very nice complex, it is rare that a entire tournament would get rained out. Better food at the concession food than most places we play at. Lots of hotels within 10 minutes of the complex. Hotels are pricey but that seems to be everywhere now.

If there is one thing I don't like, it is that they tend to schedule some games inside the dome that is located at the complex. Not a fan of playing indoors when the weather is decent.. This probably has more to do with the Tournament Director that is renting out the facility overbooking the outdoor fields. You could also look at this as being a good thing. The other option is all the games are backed up or you miss a game due to weather.

Back story - great facility built originally for baseball but after the first season of high gate fees, stay to play that forced increased prices at the owner's hotel's the city of Peoria searched for new ownership to replace Petersen as all the travel baseball teams ditched it like the plague. It survived as it took in softball. It is a great facility with decent restaurant. Issues are owner continues to make it stay and play and then jacks up hotel rates to his hotels. Peoria is not the greatest place to go to but there are worse. Hyvee and Flat top are decent places close to the facility to eat at.
