We have told them this, and we have ran girls into outs and loudly accepted the blame. I'm dealing with a lot of new players, some rising rec players that are extraordinarily timid base runners. Had some outs on the base paths that will make you pull your hair out, but we're only two tournaments in, and every play is a learning experience right now.

helmet stickers for getting thrown out due to aggressive base running maybe?;)

The only thing that motivates my DD is ice cream. And she's easily the worst base runner on the team. Fielding's not so hot either. Someone asked my what position she played the other day and I told them, "She doesn't have one. She just hits. We throw her out there where we don't think we can get hurt too bad." I asked her to pretty please work on her base running after the last tournament.

She is basically the 8 year old picking dandelions in the outfield back in rec coach pitch, but 14U. Then she's a beast in the batter's box, but turns back into a pumpkin after the ball is hit.

But yeah, stickers, Ice cream, something has to work.
