Can you possibly imagine the number of deer (and men) that have met their demise from a lever action rifle over the course of American history? A LOT!! What, since the 1860's?
My dad has an old Whalan in lever action that he's fell quite a few deer with. He now uses a .270 bolt action rifle. I prefer using a .223 round, myself. Although, I may be willing to try my hand hunting deer with a bow.
