Fond Memories

I'm Mel Pfeiffer and I played men's major fastpitch with Indianapolis Renners Express and Willsey Construction in the 1970's and 80's. I have many fond memories of competing against some of the best athletes and fine people from Aurora, Midland, MI, Decatur, IL, Benton Harbor and many other teams representing cities all over the country. Several of us still get together from time to time to revisit and relive many of those experiences.

I used to play with some of the guys who played on the Decatur Staley Teams. Mark Burris & Mark Crawford are a couple of guys. Burris is from the town I grew up in and Crawford and I played against each other in high school baseball. They both played in a league that I played in.

Cannonball, Mark Burris was one of the better hitters and people I was fortunate to meet and play against. I played against Staley’s, but then ADM and The Pride, both very good teams️
