Strange call, Fl Neb bottom 7,, 1 out i believe bases loaded, line drive down the left f line hits foul line dust flies, F3 ump ump backs off the foul line as the ball goes over him, he turns his head to the infield then back to the ball, makes no call, the F4 UMP calls foul with ball prob 175 feet away, this is the 2nd time today i have seen the 3rd b ump out of position, i thought these were the best at the CWS " remember i was one" but this is nuts regardless who got the benefit of the call.. if you haven't seen it you'll have to PM me

Saw it. Not sure if the ball was fair or foul from the slo-mo I saw--and I was switching between the WCWS game and the Cards/Giants, so I might not have seen them all. Pretty sure those lines are just painted, so not sure if that would have been chalk that flew or just part of the still-wet field. He did the same thing (I assume it was him) during the UT/UW game on the pop-up down the line that the LF dropped near the line. He backed out of the way, so there's no way on that play that he could tell where the ball was with respect to the line. Ended up it was a fair ball, but poor positioning in either case, IMO.

These guys fit right in with MLB crews, i can replay the 7th later and freeze it, will know for sure, but he was way out of thinking what he should be doing, Neb did not dispute it so they must have been satisfied

Replay shows foul, not by much, but the PU made the correct call and then waited for the coach 'cause she knew she would get a visit.

I have no idea why U3 did not turn to watch the ball. In most, including NCAA unless something has changed recently, that is his call to make in this situation.

I haven not replayed my dvd and i probably will not, waste of time, i just saw it in the moment and maybe it was water that flew, resembled chalk flying, it was the f3u's call if in fact that was him, oh well, just another day at the park, notice the f4 u call that made the last call on neb at 3rd, he or she was right there, not sure where the other ump was, lots of stuff happening.

It was. This is the best still I could get with the ball on the ground

Unless things have changed recently there is no chalk on the grass, all paint. What you saw was water splashing up.
