Days off before camp?

Curious the groups thoughts on how many days off you would give your pitcher before a 3 day college camp. Debating between 2 and 3 days, trying to balance staying dialed in with having a rested arm

How about just throwing half of her normal bullpen for 2 days. Like 50 pitches instead of 100. I would not want to take 3 days off. Might forget something!

We always did one day off before camp. DD never wanted to take off more than that. It has always worked for her.

We worked her right up til the day before camp. In hindsight that was stupid. Especially with attending multiple camps over the winter. She was always preparing for a camp and never got enough rest. That affected her performance at camps and eventually led to an overuse injury. The kids won’t forget anything from a day or even a week off. Let her rest a couple days before the camp.

DD usually works two full pitching sessions during the week before a camp (Tues and Thurs for example). The actual day before (Fri) is reserved for half distance/half speed spin work where we just focus on spin axis and the mechanics that need reinforced.
