Is there a difference in feel if moving up in length but not weight? My daughter (14U) currently swings a 32-22. She’s 5’9 and I was thinking of getting her a 33-22 for the extra size. I feel she needs one more year of a 22 b/c she’ll be a first year 14U and is going from playing local tournament ball to traditional tournament ball.
Thanks for any feedback anyone can give

yes there is a difference. If her mechanics are good, I’d be surprised if she could handle the -11 but not the -10.

My dd is 5’2’’. Her first year 14 season, She transitioned for a 31-11 to a 32-10 without issue.

I’m confused by your response. She could possibly handle going up 1 inch with no weight change at 5’9 and your daughter went up an inch and 2 oz no problem at 5’2?
Not being judgemental, I hope u can see how this would confuse me.

Borrow bats from teammates and see how it works.
Probably can tell the same day you're at practice. Not rocket science. Every individual is different.

No worries. I might have given an answer with the equivalent of a double negative.

To answer the first question;Yes there is a difference between same weight different length.

If your dd can handle 33-11 it is highly likely she will be just fine with a 33-10.

As noted my dd made a larger jump and was fine. Does she take lessons? If so, check with her hitting coach.

What model bat does she currently use? Certain brands and models are always over their posted sticker weight, while others are spot-on. This can make a difference when changing the size of your bat.

The DB Ghost tends to be close to an ounce over the listed weight, so if you're going with that model again, it will be an ounce heavier. If you're changing to a different model, say a DeMarini CF, they tend to be close to sticker weight.

That said, if she's 5'9" and strong, I see no reason she can't handle the 33-23.
