Yep, another one.

First time through the order. Batter #7 is accidentally skipped. Batter #8 bats in her place, makes final out of the inning.

Next inning, coach recognizes error and decides to bat #8 again, since it's the #8 hitter's turn at-bat. Naturally, she singles. Opposing team points out the mistake.

UIC is called in. Batter #8 is called out for batting in #9's place. The #1 batter is now at the plate, 1 out.

Is this correct?

Other than #8 isn't the one out, #9 is the batter who should have batted and is out. #8 at bat is negated, you have 1 out and #1 is up to bat.
