Just curious, at the 1:09 mark with the slapper up. Ball was mishandled, went into LH batters box and slapper was in the infield in line of throw to second. I imagine the the batter is entitled to stay on the “infield” after the swing and miss.

Just a noob dad trying to understand. Thanks

Hhaa noob
Me not noob and still cant keep up with rules rules rules and then changes changes changes.😁

Good eye!
Yep the batter/slapper was standing out of the box.
On the infield.

That is a good question for an umpire to answer for proper verbage.
What I think is
had the throw hit the batter at that point it would have been hindrance on the play.
Out.

We occasionally use a pitch out but its not an obviously ridiculous pitch and our catcher isn't basically standing up to give it away its more of an intentional pitch thigh high but well into the batters box and throw.

Or using a wasted pitch out to see what the offense may be trying to do without giving them a chance to do it.
Expose strategy.
