Another Rules question

Situation

Pitcher pitches ball in dirt that hits of catchers Shin guard and rolls into dugout. Where do runners go?

I think it depends on where they were when the ball went into the dugout. But I would expect 2 bases from where they were.

If it was on the pitch, runners get possession at time of pitch plus 1 base

Thanks for the responses. The Home ump placed move them 2 bases. I asked him how they could get 2 bases on a pitch and he consulted with the BU who said he was right. I asked to the the UIC, and he informed me that the BU was. The dugout was a ways away and catch didn't see it right away so it took awhile took a couple of seconds and he said that runners were almost to other base when it went out of play. I said it doesn't matter because it's from the time of the pitch and they looked at me like I was nut. I was ready to protest but only had $5 in my pocket and it wasn't that big of a game.
