And someone said California wasn't the center of the softball universe

It was I. I still stand by my comment. The teams are great, but there are some bad a$$ teams all over the country. Let's take a look at the final handful of teams in the 18U PGF Brackets. And yes, the best Cali teams were in OKC.

Nebraska Gold
Lady Dukes
Tampa Mustangs
B'ham T-bolts
Hotshots
Beverly Bandits
Ga Impact

What does that list conclude?

That teams from other states will choose pgf?! or calif?!

And alliance proved
Ca teams still won?!

Not an Alliance vs PGF post. I am saying these teams are NOT from Cali and they were the final handful teams left at PGF. Proving my point that Cali is not the center of the softball universe...anymore. Grow the game.

Nobody is debating (I don’t think) that the greatest concentration of good teams is in CA (which I guess could mean it is “The Center of the Softball Universe” ) However every year there are more and more teams from other parts of the country which can compete with the CA teams which I think you would agree is a good thing for softball.

Yes agree grow the game!

The format was refreshing!

The people are the same!
Same names and teams that revolve around themselves!

Agree it is about time after decades of ca being the epicentre
That more softball opportunities are offered across the nation.

Its nice teams that play eachother all the time here,
Can go other places to play eachother too!

And still
Teams from other places can come here!

Not certain why traveling
makes anything more prestigious.
Other than its seems fancy to spend thousands and fly....

Like the idea of nationals being held at different locations yearly!
Simply because not all teams always travel far.
And nationals is a fun goal!

Obviously the center of the universe comment was tongue in cheek. Japan is clearly the center of the softball universe

However, if California isn't the epicenter of American softball, let's have every college that has coaches and players from California but the school isn't in California send all the Californians home, and then see how well those schools do without all the ringers hired and brought in from the golden state
