Here is a situation/problem I am trying to address. I call it the "oh shirt swing." Count 3 and 1. Batter should be in the yes, yes yes mindset but instead they are in the "walk is as good as a hit" (NO, IT IS NOT) "I don't want to swing at ball 4 so I better make sure its a strike" mindset. So by the time she is done making sure its a strike its too late (oh shirt) and she either takes the pitch or she takes a weak armsy oh shirt swing at the FB right down the middle and weakly grounds out to the pitcher.
Sue Enquist also says, we don't want careful hitters, we want aggressive hitters. There is nothing careful about hitting.
