    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

You are right - however, it wasn't being wronged - it was fear. Seeing my big kid who never cries and never gets hurt writhing on the ground for 5 minutes and then crying for the remainder of the game and back in the hotel room scared me. A lot. Did I think it was malicious at the time - no. Do...

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

She was shook up for all of 1 minute - the player on the ground was shook up for a day and a half and was lucky she didn't have a concussion. TBH there was no further context. Our team is pretty young and not ones that get ugly. We were coming back but this happened toward the last part of the...

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

Thanks - I will try the screen record. Honestly the quality of videos now doesn't mean much since she is going off to college in August. We don't bother using them for highlights anymore. Her coach already said he knows what she can do so just a quick update will do - thank goodness lol...

I keep hearing this - can you link the exact rule where they designate that only one player is protected because all the verbiage I am seeing just specifies "a player". I am not looking for the college ruleset - I am looking for the rule for USA which I think IDT uses for their rules.

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

You are welcome to use it to train - sure. I guess the quality sucks butts but I really don't know how to make it better. It's pretty clear on GameChanger

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

The video is clear on Gamechanger. Downloading it to my phone and then emailing it to my account definitely distorts the video. If you have a better way to transfer I am all for knowing. All my videos seem to lose resolution as I download and start transferring from device to device. I...

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

I'm sorry but no way. 1B had a play on that ball and every coach instructs the higher number fielder to make the play. P is instructed to never make catches if another player can make that catch and on our team C is also instructed to not make that play because she doesn't pull off her helmet...

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

I was responding the The Man in Blue on whether it was an interference call and "how to interpret it" - it was 100% interference whether it was malicious or not and I've heard opinions both ways. I tend to think the best of people but my kid is not small - and she does not go down easily. I...

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

I updated the video - I'm thinking there isn't a whole lot to interpret in this - she ran inside the baseline and put her arms up before contact so she definitely saw what she was running into.

Sorry I thought if I made it private and shared the link it would work. Try this one - I just moved it to unlisted.

    Softball tackle? and the recovery.

IDT Watching this just makes my heart and head hurt. Haley was looking straight up at the pop up. Technically being the higher number position it was her play as her coaches have always taught her. I just don't understand why any runner would try and make that much contact on a play since they...

Why we need some kind of pitch/inning count in softball!

Exactly. We all hate being told what to do. We hate those pesky "regulations" and "laws/rules" but they are there because you can't trust some people to use common sense. The thing is that often that pitcher is a young kid that has been hearing the hype - she WANTS to ball and throw and be the...

NCAA Hints at making leaping legal.

Don't talk strategy loudly with the other batter in the on deck circle??

So you decided to get a hitting instructor

Because my kid doesn't listen to us. She still goes to a HI weekly. I've sat in on a few lessons - he says the same thing we (dh and I) do to her but somehow she believes him and he gets results out of her with *less* attitude. I don't want the stress of dealing with it :ROFLMAO:

Team fundraiser coach wants the money paid in cash.

I have paid in cash and when we did superbowl squares I also received cash from people that I passed along. That being said all money sent along was documented in writing and sent to the treasurer and verified by whomever I gave the money too. I don't see our treasurer very often so I will have...

Travel costs for sb now. Flight. Hotel. Car rental....

Daughter's college move in is Aug 26. This is her last summer of travel. We travel from VA to CO for IDT and then we will travel from VA to Providence for NE Finest. CO alone with flights for 3 people, the expensive hotel room for 8 nights (we play practice games on 6/26 & 6/27), rental car and...

    10U tournament/ boy on a team

Well now I think we have kept it civil and Pattar is on the post even. I feel like some special awards should be given out.

    Eyes Up (must watch)

I am too and I feel guilty most of the time. Probably why I pray so much - then take sips outta my Yeti.

    10U tournament/ boy on a team

Well now there are rules in place that prevent that in most places - I'm guessing in this location (at that age) that rule was not in place. Like Tim_s said - his daughter plays coed soccer. Heck in t-ball it was all coed when my kids were little. We see plenty of girls playing "boys" sports. As...
