Ghost and other two piece bat question

I think this may be what the OP is talking about. We only noticed because it wasn't popping off the bat like normal. It wouldnt twist but was easy to move. When I would take pressure off it would close up. Easton replaced it. The one she is using now has some flex but not as much but is still hot.

    Velocity vs accuracy

After reading all these "expert" comments I guess I can answer my own question. Be accurate and consistent but don't lob meatballs up there. No sense in throwing 50+ if you can't throw a strike and no sense in throwing strikes if they are 25 mph. Lol. You can tell it is fall travel season for...

    Velocity vs accuracy

A general answer that isn't telling someone they're doing it wrong or their kid is screwed or something lol. I like it.

    Velocity vs accuracy

Why not? Some 10 year olds want to work hard and be the best they can be. Just a general question I posted not a big long thought out thing. If a kid is 10 and can't throw a strike that's a problem so it does matter if she is accurate. I swear you can't ask a general question on this forum...

    Velocity vs accuracy

Her pitching coach stressed when we first started with her that until her mechanics were correct she wasn't going to show her a bunch of pitches. I agree that a some parents say their kid has 50 different pitches lol. As I said my DD does FB and changeup. She's literally only thrown(or attempted...

    Velocity vs accuracy

My DD that is a 2012 and been in lessons about a year is consistent in the mid 40's. High 40's on good day. She is accurate and knows how to pitch with placement even if a coach isn't calling the pitches. My question is which is better. Placement at 45-47 or slinging it 50? She uses a fastball...

    Need help sizing catching gear!!!!

Daughter wants to learn catching. Won a raffle for some Jen Schro the very best gear. She is about 4'9" tall and about 115 lbs. Torn between small and medium I guess. From her ankle to knee is 14" and throat to belly button is 14". Not exactly sure how accurate those last 2 measurements are...

    Rec Ball/ Travel Ball

I just feel rec is for girls learning and shouldn't be for travel kids. Dont get me wrong some of these rec all stars can kick butt. But if my girl was just starting out and made Allstars then got killed by a team of travel players and she said screw it that would be wrong. Having said that the...

    Rec Ball/ Travel Ball

No this was a travel ball team that split to form 2 rec teams during the regular season. The all star team is all the travel girls with a couple from other travel teams. They are literally obliterating other teams. Is thay normal? We literally left the team we were on because rec ball was more...

    Rec Ball/ Travel Ball

Baseball seems to be more strict on the travel players in rec ball so this is just a question of curiosity. Is it normal for a travel team to form an Allstar team, because their kids played rec ball, and go out and dominate? Just seems a little unfair and may even cause a kid to say screw this...

    Play up or not?

Merely used elite for lack of a better word I guess. Suppose I should have said more advanced. Also as I said pitching isn't her number one thing most important to her. She is not an advanced pitcher. That's why I lean more towards the 10U to allow her time to grow.

    Play up or not?

That is nice to hear and understandable. Just dont wanna be those people that constantly change teams.

    Play up or not?

The speed with the 12" ball is one of my main concerns. She is only throwing about 40 with it and thatvis on a good day. Early in the spring in 12U if she took any off and left one over the plate the older girls smashed it. Her placement is good and her changeup gets better everyday. She can...

    Play up or not?

I agree I want to keep her more with her age. Only concern with that is her birthday. With her being born in January and being with 2012 girls means she would play some 10U at age 11. Is that holding her back by doing that? The 10U team we are looking at would most likely have the exposure to...

    Play up or not?

With the 2 teams we are looking at she would get good mound time. Maybe a little more in 10U. Both teams are well known organizations. She literally makes friends with anybody lol. The 10U team would expose her to more former college players helping out. It is a 2012 team. But with her birthday...

    Play up or not?

My DD is a 2012 born Jan 5th. She played up in 12U for most of the spring. She did very well in 12U C ball playing mostly 2nd base and pitching in pool games. It was a local team with lots of friends. Playimg time was of no concern as she played pretty much every inning of every game. Last fall...
