Team Rules~No player/parent interaction at the ballpark
I wouldn't be opposed to something like this but like Tatonka said there has to be some flexibility you would think. I know there were times when we had an 8am game and then not again until later in the afternoon, so the Coach or Coaches would be responsible for keeping all of the girls together...- Butch18507

Why College Softball is Different….
Pattar you hit the nail on the head about ego, I was coaching younger girls and had a dad arguing and screaming at me about the position his daughter was playing. He got so mad that his final thing he screamed was "I'm not an outfielder" which i followed with well there it is........ he walked...- Butch18507

Gotta love turf
Same here CF, NEPA here and we have a winter storm warning starting tonight last I heard was possible 4-8". Of course right after all the snow and ice just finished melting on the field it rears it's head again!- Butch18507

Travel versus Club is there a difference?
In NEPA we have what you would call Rec teams that play out of each City, Town, or Borough that you typically have to live within the city limits to play there and you play a schedule against other teams from neighboring towns that have teams. Then we have the Travel teams, which there are a few...- Butch18507

Captains: Yes or No?
I agree with the no captain designation, we have a few girls that are the leaders if he team but that happened organically by them setting good examples and being vocal with the other players when situations arose and weren't prompted by a coach to take charge, they just did....- Butch18507

Just an interesting note about side arm throwing
My DD was pitching in a 12U Rec game, took a hard hit one hopper square in her mask. She was shook up a little but finished the inning and on her way in she said, dad I promise I will never ask again to not wear my mask. I wouldn't let any of our girls in Rec or TB go on the field without a...- Butch18507
