DSU10 she does ball out of glove style already and her drive is also good. She can also keep bend and keep palm up if she goes slow. Frustrating to me because some girls have no problem with this and they are getting great whip. I feel we are still bowling!

Yep have tried all that stuff still turn the ball over when going hard. Also as far as her drive it’s pretty good. So… keeping the bend in her arm is the missing link for us for whip and speed.

Ok wow…that gives me hope! I notice some girls have no problem w bent arm and others like my DD just can’t do it when she goes full pitch. And we have worked on this for years!

I feel like my DD can keep her arm bent when going slow but when she speeds up she likes to straighten her arm. I feel this is her missing link to get to the next level. Any drills or ideas you can recommend?

I would recommend online lessons -which means you ultimately end up being her coach. You may also still want to go to the local coach to learn spins this way the Coach sees your not an outlier…

12 u travel this worked for me but I’m no expert. If batter is close to plate make the pitcher pitch inside including screw. Batter standing far from plate outside pitches including curve. Batters standing way back in the box-CU always works well. I stopped calling CUs when there were runners on...
Shawn it’s amazing at least w my DD, put a whiffle ball in her hand and she looks perfect. Keeps palm up and good lag. However put a softball in her hand and Hello elbow! She too has been struggling w speed. All the experts say keep the palm up and speed comes!

No local leagues. She plays 3rd when not pitching and gets plenty of batting on her 12u team- recently became lead off batter

The 12u team would win!!! And yes my daughter wants to pitch all the time. And yes the shaky defense would bug me after a while bc she produces weak contact when she pitches. Not a strike out pitcher.

She did great when she guested for the 14u team. The extra distance didn’t bother her. On her current team she averages 1 game on Saturday and 1 on Sunday because there are 4 pitchers . On the 14u team she would be able to pitch many more games . However the 14 u team is shaky defensively and...
DD has the opportunity to play up on 14u team where she would get plenty of mound time or stay with her 12 u team that’s a much better more competitive team but she is fighting for mound time?

Bjenkins we have been converting from HE to IR for a while now. We are still having a problem w leading w the elbow and palm up in the back. She can do it slow but when she speeds up she tightens up. Did your DD have this problem?

Been on this journey now for quite a few years as my DD is almost at 14u. The issue is coaches and parents talk about speed all the time!!! It puts a lot of pressure on these kids. I know my DD gets depressed when I pull out the radar gun. She immediately tightens up. Speed is sexy but for some...
Not that fast around 48-49 but her rise has such good spin that it produces a weak pop up or foul. We have been trying to switch from HE to IR over the last year or more so it’s a work in progress. Not as easy as everyone says…
