1000%. At least for us, and the people that I have watched grow up playing. Could not tell you the model #'s that I grew up using, but can tell you the brand of glove and bats. My DD uses neither now, but started with both.
My DD's 44 was her 1st custom (11 yo at the time). We went youth based on their recommendations. Was too tight on wrist opening after 1st year. Like the glove, seems well made. Wish we had ordered adult to get more use out of it.
We have 2 Gloveworks right now. Mine is a 13.25, DD has a 12.75 (her backup, never her favorite). Both were sent to CT for break in together. Can hardly tell a difference between them. For reference, she also has a new 12.75 Marucci that she has barely started the break in, and it looks smaller...
While my DD is now strictly Marucci, she does have a GW Pro Steerhide that is currently her backup. She says the leather is "too slick". Honestly for the money, they are hard to beat.
I've said it here before. It was recommended to me by probably that same member. My DD was a smaller, quicker outfielder, switched around 10 or 12u. Really helped when we started buying bigger size gloves, 12.5, now 12.75 (Marucci customs ask wear preference). She has since grown a foot, has...
I'm not a glove expert, but I have ordered 3 of the Gloveworks custom. 2 of the Game Day, and 1 Pro Steerhide. Overall I like them. My DD is a diehard Marucci customs. She has the Pro, but its her backup. Her description is "it's too slick". The Gloveworks are stiff, seem to be well made, and I...
Never back in my baseball days did I see anybody doing it. Granted that was 30+ years ago. @ANNASDAD suggested it to me for DD a few years ago, she tried it, loved it, and would not even consider going back traditional, even on the infield practice days. Every time she gets a chance, she'll tell...
My DD has fallen for Ghost bats She swings the 2pc Advance far better than anything else. The 1 pc, not so much. We have or had 5 total, and has not broken 1. 32/22 2020 Advance is almost 3 years old, uses 4-5 times a week. Just picked up a 2022 Advanced 33/22 from @LEsoftballdad ( great price...
I think as a parent, the tournament director is more important than the letters. Clean, safe facilities. Games that start and end close to when they should. Enough blues to keep all games moving. All this will be handled by a competent director.
I've also noticed that the different letters...
Looking to sell a barely used Slugger Meta X. 33 -10. Bought new Sept 2022. Not a warranty replacement. Will include original receipt. DD prefers ghost. $350 shipped or make me on offer if interested please. Thanks
Funny how quick that happens isn't it? Mine went from big box Wilsons, to a 44 pro (growth spurt / outgrew), to Marucci custom, with a Gloveworks backup. Then add in bats, bags, cleats, and OMG !!! batting gloves (hard on equipment). I'm sure I would cry/scream/cuss if I even attempted to calculate.
The Marucci is great. The only reason I brought up the wear, is that it looks older than it is (mostly on outer shell, middle 2 finger slots). Every couple of months, I'll clean it and use Nokona glove conditioner on it. It seems to be only aesthetic, no issues on shape or inner linings.
It's at " Glovewhispererperformance " going through his break in process (he actually called me a couple of hours ago to discuss details). I figured since this one wasn't her favorite, it was a good candidate to try the process out. The Gloveworks comes too stiff for my liking, @ANNASDAD would...
Sorry I didn't see this thread when it was new. I ordered DD a Marucci Custom Oxbow last year. She is an outfielder, uses TIP / shift. Went 12.75 full trap web. She LOVES it. I will say that it hasn't held up as good as I hoped it would, but it has gotten used 2-3 practices a week, 25 travel...
@ Annasdad suggested TIP to me a few years ago. After 1 practice my DD hasn't ever switched back, even the few times she played 3rd. Definitely made a big difference with her. I recommend it to all outfielders.
Side note, I'm currently watching the Alabama / Georgia game, and Kilfoyl has yellow lacing and binding on her black Easton glove. I guess SEC blues have no issue with it?
