My daughter plays 10u and there are a couple teams they play that will ride one pitcher the majority of the tournament. I don't know about damage to their arms, but one girl now wears a knee brace that she didn't wear in the fall.
My 10yo plays a lot of tournaments that start on Fridays, so I usually try to get her lesson in on Thursdays. My thought is any adjustments are fresh in her mind when the tournament starts.
I've seen plenty of very successful 8u travel teams implode once they got to 10U and kid pitch. The struggles come and the parents can't handle not winning and the whole team falls apart.
I really think you're overthinking this. If the younger girls are good enough to move up to 12u then move them up, if not they should stay in 10u for their benefit.
