Same here. Oldest Daughter grew out of her 2016 xeno which was 29/18 but it was the hottest bat she has ever had by a wide margin and crazy durable. Waiting for my younger daughter to grow into that bat yet…
We have a couple of girls on my daughters team that use them. Great bat. To me they seem like they have more of a muted sound. Seems like another LS with good durability.
My DD has a 30/20 zen and a 31/20 PC (currently swings a 33/22 LXT). She preferred the PC. It’s tough to beat demarinis if you are after a light swinging bat but the Pc had more pop. Btw we are a family of Jayhawks
Really interesting article highlighting how armor is impacting the game. Several posters above have presented elbow guards as passive pieces of protective equipment. Well they may be used that way by individual players, but that’s not always the case.
Thank you for your deep insights. The bigger picture has nothing to do with the individual player - it’s the impact on the game. If a player can park on the inside of the plate without consequence, that changes the equation. Also, it's a 12 in ball going 50 mph, not a smaller baseball going...
So we've meandered a bit away from Scragg's original question with our discussion here...
My bat recommendations (in order) for your granddaughter would provide a blend of high performance and recognized durability along with the end-loaded feel she is already used to from swinging ghosts:

I get your general point, but I don't agree with all aspects of your post. It would definitely be the easy route to dismiss the feedback on the forum as hens clucking, but you could also consider that the message board might be a pretty good cross section of the bat market. So if I'm the...
My daughter is smaller for her age and she’s a contact hitter who has never broken a bat. Despite that, I still have to say I factor feedback on durability into our bat purchases. I think most of us on here understand that bat makers are trying to balance performance and durability. As a busy...
Absolutely. Push fences back AND lengthen the base path. The sport would begin selecting for better overall athletes with a more open field configuration.
Does the board have some reputable LS dealers here? I think DD is ready for the next size up bat and it's down to the LXT and the ghost. Core is great on the Easton/Mizuno side, but if she decides to go the Louisville Slugger route I'm curious to see if we have contacts on the board. Also, do...
Man I was hoping to see some awesome gloves posted. BTW Annasdad, my daughter is really starting to dig the Closeout Bats Gamer G206 you put us on to. I know it's not the high-grade leather many of your gloves have, but the pattern is great and with her being a smaller girl, she's able to work...
Exact Same scenario for my daughter but she still plays tennis as a primary sport. She would love to play on softball or volleyball travel teams but there isn’t enough time
This looks like a bit of a mess to me. Off-line throw makes sense. 2B WAY late backing up. Not an outfielder in sight. SS going high and colliding with runner in the base path. Slide looks great though....and I’m sure it was an athletic play by SS.
