Not sure what you're asking here...We (translation: my wife) just point it at us and crank it up. Of course she's usually also got blankets and jackets on as well. If it's mostly a one person being cold thing (like we have), I'd look into getting a heated jacket/vest and an extra battery. We...
We use a setup like this and it works well. I used my angle grinder to cut a slot in the base of the fan so it hooks onto the wire guard of the buddy heater nicely.
My DD is a die hard Demarini girl...The CF line is her weapon of choice. Out of all the different bats she's tried, the Mizuno Power Carbon is the only other bat she's used for any considerable period of time. With your girl coming off swining a Spryte, I think you'd be pretty safe with either...
A hitting coach in our area uses regular 9in baseballs for all his lessons, whether baseball or softball. I hear it's been pretty rough on the fastpitch composite bats. No first-hand experience there, but I'm not willing to risk it.
We still hit 11inch in our cage at home (mostly due to having several buckets of them and it saves the one 12 inch bucket of Dream Seams I have for pitching). It's not a drastic size difference when hitting, but I do believe it helps my DD find the middle of the ball come game time, though.
Gulf Shores is a great place to have the combo vacation/tournament. There's a good amount of downtime and lots of fun to be had in the area: beach, gator farms, tourist places like the Hangout, the Wharf,, Tacky Jack's, etc.
Traffic on the main road that parallels the beach can be horrendous...
All three are good quality gloves, but at different price points. The LA will break in fastest and easiest but will probably need replacing sooner than the other two. The A2000 will take some work to be game ready for a 10 year old, but once you have it dialed in you can expect a several years...
Coach pitch, we felt like the Decker Sharks were the best we could get our hands on. Low seams and they just seemed to jump off the bat better than other brands we tried.
2021 Ford Explorer XLT here...has the 4cyl, but is plenty peppy with avg hwy mileage at 24.5mpg. We made sure to get the optional fold-down 3rd row seats for when DD wants to haul a few friends around too. Tow package with a hitch rack frees up a lot of interior space when we're packing heavy...
Agreed. While I definitely prefer a well conditioned, well maintained "real" infield, the unfortunate reality is that very, very few facilities can/will devote the time, energy and money into doing what it takes to keep them in great shape. At least most turf fields provide a consistent playing...
Right??!? I was just happy the park in Kokomo was a nice turf facility...I may have some lingering PTSD due to some of the trash fields we've been assigned to at some of the "National" events over the years.
We also went the house rental route as it was way more affordable (it cost us $750 for the full 7 days)...Initially booked a large house with 3 other families that was within walking distance to Grand Park, but their water well failed about six weeks before the tournament. Our host was excellent...
She'd definitely gain a lot from seeing a quality, IR instructor and then putting in the work. Those are nearly non-existent where we live, though.
Pitching is only something she started doing because she'd have to do it on our school team (rural OK, K-8 school). She probably won't continue...
Help me understand something here...in one post you refer to leaping as "bad mechanics" and in another you talk about leaping giving an advantage. If it's an advantage, wouldn't that make it superior mechanics??? ;)
In all seriousness though, my kid's a leaper and I haven't been able to break...
They are a good team, and they did play very well last week. What stood out to me was the skills gap between the top teams and the bottom tier was not as big as I normally see at these "national" events, which was a pleasant change of pace. Honestly, I felt like there was about a half dozen...
