    Excellent angle to see sequence

I think this video provides a great view to see how these hitters have sequence. Slow it down, play/pause

    Upper half

What struck me in this video of Antonelli, is how quiet the upper body is, During the entire sequence of the player in the video. I know younger players generally have a lot of upper body movement. Not really concerned with what he was talking about in the video.

I thought this is a good video series. Its about 5 videos in total.

    Gather

Loading at different times, is he guessing what pitch is coming which determines when he loads, or is he just inconsistent or something else.

    Rear arm ER

Is the hands resisting trying to resist External Rotation of the upper rear arm vs what is normally done in throwing? It seems to me this is a critical portion of the swing. If you look at his top hand, it seems that the hands start raise due to ER but quickly stop as the slot of the elbow...

    Middle School

Is it important for players to play MS ball, especially if they have a goal of playing or trying out for the HS in the future? I know I personally never played MS ball, just played in HS.

Start of 1st year 12u season

First tournament in the bag.DD showed some promise. No strike outs, so that's a confidence booster. Mostly grounded out, but making progress. Overall movements were pretty good imo. Going to try to and get her out of neck slot to free the hands up. Couple game swings

Such a simple simple gather "Load" and swing. https://tenor.com/view/simple-pendulum-pendulum-physics-loop-science-gif-20641434

    Great post

I read this post and thought it was worth sharing. Because I feel that its a trap that it easy to fall into. https://www.discussfastpitch.com/threads/dont-let-the-pursuit-of-perfection-stand-in-the-way-of-execution.1703/

    Tony Gwynn

Love Tony's statement about the upper body and the hands

    Approach

I like talking mechanics as much as the next guy no matter their philosophy, but what about approach. Come game time, mechanics ride shotgun to approach, hopefully the practice put in for grooving a swing sticks. At least IMO Now here is a approach :ROFLMAO: So what age do you start teaching...

    2019 LXT 29/17

2019 LXT 29/17. In decent shape, couple nicks by end cap, and standard scuffs on knob and barrel. Grip is still in good shape. DD outgrew and looking to upgrade. If interested PM and I can send pics etc. $175 or OBO

    No Stride

DD's been working on No stride. She wants to swing this way. I don't have any problem with it. Is there anything to be aware of or to look for? The main thing I know is that she doesn't need to just stand and spin. Still have to have sequence. Bp at home and Team Bp yesterday went well didn't...

Early opening of the front hip

What generally cause early front hip opening? Front foot opening, etc.? Thanks for your input.

    Pelvic tilt

Just curious of your guys opinion on Pelvic Tilt, is it the same as hip hinge?

    Phone booth

What is your guys thoughts about "hitting in a phone" as goal of teaching a player that the stride is to not take you to the ball to swing, but to get you into position to swing from, if that makes sense? Have the feeling of letting the ball come to you, I guess.

Thoughts on what Gwynn is suggesting.

I know we can watch a lot of hitters (including Tony) pro or college and we see the hips "turning" before the hands. Hence the cue hips before hands (Ted W), but I wonder if that leads to more issues at younger ages (10-12). Could Tony Gwynn be on to something, when he says start the hands first...

    Tony Gwynn

I've listened to many of Tony Gwynn's videos talking hitting over the years. I have to say the thought process of "swinging the knob" feels great when I try it off the tee. Maybe it's word play between "Swing the knob" vs "throwing the head". Now, I don't think he is meaning it as "Knob to the...

    Wrist

Do any of you teach wrist action in the swing or is that a non teach?
