    CLOCKING YOUR DD

I would be very careful on the strategy you use to achieve this. Alot of really bad cues/drills that can really mess up a good pitchers foundation by trying to achieve something that is a result of other things by trying to make it “the thing”. Just my 2 cents and more worth :)

    Changeup Velocity

Agreed - more than 15mph gets consistently crushed at A level travel. Too much time to reload and fire the barrel on it. Those flip changes look cool but can get roasted. DD runs about 12 slower and throws a double knuckle that runs away from a righty and drops. Even when they know it’s coming...

    Sorry for the delay, sold.

    Favorite speed drills

Saw them posting Garcia’s speed at 73. Hmmmmmm......

    Game Speed vs Practice Speed

DD is the same way....always 2-3 mph faster in games than any other time. And that’s usually in the later innings too. Been that way since 8u. Something about the adrenaline and competitiveness that blocks out the concentration on mechanics or doing things a certain way. Based on observations I...

    Sunglasses

Oakley Half Jacket XL Prizm. DD bought her own custom when she was 13. Absolutely loves them. Takes care of them like they are gold. Could not recommend them enough after trying them myself. The depth perception difference off dirt, turf and grass is so much better than any other lens I have...

Washing dinghy white sublimated jersey tops

I’m sure Bill wants them looking sharp [emoji1787]

    Stretch

The longer the stride the harder it is to rotate the hips. Also that then can cause connection issues. If you notice the end of her swing, before contact, she essentially makes up the difference by pushing the hands to the ball and loses alot of power. I think if she gets 6 inches shorter it...

    12U pitchers throwing 58-60 mph

Make sure you send that to ExtraInnings so that she can be a top 100 player next year. Stats not necessary [emoji1787]

    12U pitchers throwing 58-60 mph

I’m scared and I am behind a computer screen! Seriously though...60 at 40’ is nothing more than click click. Takes alot of luck to really square it up when its got some decent movement. That 43’ is a deal breaker for alot of these girls. It makes the good ones even better with 3 more feet of...

    12U pitchers throwing 58-60 mph

Certainly not a dime a dozen but we played alot of 12u national teams last summer and I personally clocked over a dozen in the 58-62 range with a pocket radar. But...these are national A level teams playing the top competition from all over the country. The best of the best. Didn’t see anything...

Bump. I’d entertain a reasonable offer. This is a great bat with practically no use.

Number of tournaments per month? roster size?

That makes more sense. No team DD has ever played for could have worked out as a group 3 times a week. Some players coming from 3-4 hours one way, many 90 mins one way. Most non-rec 16u teams I am familiar with do 1 3-4hr team practice a week and then the girls work on their own for individual...

Number of tournaments per month? roster size?

3x and 7hrs a week for a 16u team?!? Holy cow. That seems....ummm...excessive. Tell me all these players are from the same town?

    Home made pitching mat

I used gorilla glue for the rubber and gorilla tape on the joints between the two pieces of stall mat. We are ~15 months in of use and it looks just like it did when we started. I used white “hurricane tape” for a powerline and then used black gorilla tape down each side to keep the edges from...

    Change up help

For my DD I have found over the years her two biggest problems with throwing the change-up have been: 1. Stiff arm. The arm has to be loose to have any kind of control. 2. Not throwing it full tilt. When she lets off the ball is all over the place. She will tell you all day that her change...
