    Runner vs. No runner speed

Agreed of course. And those things are given. I’m actually just curious about the specific point of whether a pitcher using a rubber would have more speed than without

    Runner vs. No runner speed

My guess is there would be just based off being able to push off, but this group has so much more experience I figured there might be some anecdotal data

    Runner vs. No runner speed

Just curious the groups experience with this. On occasion there just happens to be no runner to practice off of for a pitcher. What speed difference do you see with runner vs no runner?

    Days off before camp?

I was leaning towards fewer days off as well and I like the idea of a shorter session

    Days off before camp?

Curious the groups thoughts on how many days off you would give your pitcher before a 3 day college camp. Debating between 2 and 3 days, trying to balance staying dialed in with having a rested arm

    Danger zone speed

Not to jump off topic but your phrase "difficult to perfect" is sticking with me. If you had a choice between this pitch and a true backspin riseball, would you have a preference? I've been around the forums for a long time and the consensus seems to be pure backspin is the way to go if the...

    Danger zone speed

I have read quite a bit about this. People using the phrase "throwing through the spin". I wonder if that could play into my original question. When a pitcher gets a nice jump in speed based on their hard work, I wonder if they throw a little differently, either enjoying the speed or just...

    Danger zone speed

Agreed with your statement but I am thinking more of if everything is the same. Let me word it differently. If I put a hitter up against a machine that throws the same exact pitch every-time, lets say a riseball with the exact same spin I have the machine throw it at 53 57 61 What is the...

    Danger zone speed

Question about speed progression. Assuming high level 16u travel-ball play (games against the top 25 teams in the nation), I am wondering if as a pitcher progresses in speed if there is a space where they just end up being easier to hit temporarily. For purpose of the question I am thinking...

    Pitch calling question

Question on pitch calling, at elite level D1/Pro. Two example questions- - At the top 10 D1 schools, when calling a rise ball for example, is the coach calling height AND inside/outside? If the coach wants a rise at the knees, is that called along with inside/outside? - Same for...

    AFA Southwestern Nationals Pitching Rules

Anyone been playing in AFA tournaments this year? I looked everywhere on their website and the only rules set I could find was from 2018. Curious if they are start back or step back (or maybe even still two feet???).

    40 vs 43 feet

    You all are awesome, thanks!!

    40 vs 43 feet

SO throw it slower to get it there quicker. On it!!! ;)

    40 vs 43 feet

I know I have seen a few math wizards on here :) If a girl is throwing 55mph from 40 feet, what is the equivalent in time to the plate that a girl would need to throw from 43 feet to be the same.

    Pitcher warm ups

You mentioned accuracy in your post, so I assume that you are asking about "pitching specific" warmups, like mentioned above "lock it in, k-drill,etc". You may already know this, but just as a reminder, make sure your girl is "warming up to throw", not "throwing to warmup" We do specific arm...

    Coaches yelling pitch location

Just curious if that is allowed or if there is any "interference" rule on this? Certainly we should train our catchers to setup at the last second, but I did see a catcher at a tourney this last weekend who would set up too early and the coach would call out to the batter where the ball was going.

    Pitch List on Arm Band

Thanks for the replies! The weekly adjustment was used as an example on how the macros works as I agree no need to change weekly. Plus now that we have moved on to travel we are in tournaments rather than weekly games so we are good! I think the 4th number will help specific to my question...

    Pitch List on Arm Band

What I meant by the debate is shown as in the above quotes (hopefully no offense LOL), where I knew the response would be "don't worry about it. I debated just stating she was 14 so I could get to the answers :) But the problem is I wanted people to understand the catcher is 11 so not ready...

    Pitch List on Arm Band

Question around listing pitches on arm band. I currently use a three number system, which has a max 150 spots, which changes whenever I run a macrosos, so its impossible to pick the pitches. So 421 for example might be fastball on the band, and then next game that same number might be...
