Not at all. They’re just an example. I appreciate greatness and they are that. Are they cheesy? Sure. But they’re an example of the fake energy trend in the sport. Watch FSU and it’s genuine. Each player celebrates in their own way.
A lot of teams in softball do the “let’s go” with arms...
Great feedback. I appreciate the conversation. I’m watching FSU right now. They play with excitement and it’s genuine looking. It doesn’t look forced at all. A genuine love for the game and one another.
OU does just to do it. Going ballistic on walks is so corny
I just don’t think all of these emotional outbursts are sincere. It’s for “show”. That’s all. Spiking bats on walks for example.
And it’s a message board. Why does anyone post anything on the board?
Nah. It’s a manufactured emotion. Not sure why the truth bothers some of you. It’s ok to admit that it’s not a sincere emotion from some of these players and actually forced. Doesn’t mean they’re bad players, people etc. It doesn’t mean this great sport sucks. It’s just an observation that many...
Great take. I honestly love passion. But everyone doing the same gestures is more of a trend thing vs a sincere outburst of emotion…in my opinion.
I’m watching OU now and they over celebrate everything. It would be like football players dancing whenever they get a first down
True. I’d just like to see something unique from time to time. I think part of it is that for so long girls didn’t show emotions in their sports. So now that they are they’re not quite sure how to do it. So they just repeat what they see. The locking out of the arms isn’t a natural reaction...
I don’t mind them having fun. It’s a game. It’s just something I noticed. My daughter’s old travel coach played at Oregon. She noticed the same thing. She told her girls to celebrate every play like it’s their last. But do it in their own way. Don’t yell let’s go every time
Curious if this college trend has made it to the travel ball players yet? I don’t mind the girls playing with passion. But when they all do the same body gesture (ex arms locked out and angled back) and yelling “let’s go!” It’s just fake after awhile. Especially when all players do it. Nobody...
That’s exactly what happens. She’s almost straight armed at contact when people tell her to get it out front. She looks uncomfortable.
Should we just continue to work on increasing bat speed, etc. She does tend to be front side dominant. Trying to work on that.
Searching for more pop. She definitely lets it travel. Sometimes too much and then she’ll pound it into the ground. She has four HRs but most of her hard hits are what you see in the video.
When she tries to “hit it out front “ she tends to hit weak ground balls to 3rd or a bloop type hit over...
