My DD has a pair with a couple of holes in them where she has been spiked on plays at the plate, absolutely refuses to throw them away. Nothing like those however.
pwr crbn has different internals, I have no idea if it makes a difference other than they sound a little different. Could maybe make the pwr crbn a little more end loaded ?♂️ According to DD it feels pretty close to her GA, it's her cold weather/cage bat now.
For softball we've been lucky and had 2 good head coaches so far, one did ride an arm for an entire season, but she was all for it and didn't plan to play in college.
Baseball on the other hand, you can apparently buy your kids way onto the varsity team. Boneheaded fielding & baserunning...
Sorry, that was an abbreviated statement. It is definitely preferred to have umpires at JV games, it's great for development (of players and umpires), however wins and losses don't have a post season consequence for JV.
We've had umpires not show for JV games and the coaches did exactly as you described, really for JV it doesn't matter. I'm guessing it's a situation where you have an ump call in to their coordinator that they can't make it, coordinator calls the AD and the AD doesn't see the message right...
Recently on a bat testing youtube channel they compare a BBCOR, BESR, slow pitch and then I think a 2020 GA 34/26 hitting baseballs. The GA held up and was getting 115+ exit velos, so maybe DDs need to hit the gym and start swinging heavy bats, then they won't break anymore :)
Faster than she looks, she has really long legs so they don't look like they are moving fast but she covers ground.
This ball was very high to the left center gap.
