I am giving a strong warning or throwing out the runner. This is an obvious case of the ump not getting control and letting the game slip away. I have to suspect this wasn't the first problem in this game. These types of parents/coaches/teams need to be warned early and firmly. Umpiring isn't easy but it's even harder when you are passive and indecisive.

The game had been fairly quiet until this point. But it was an 18u team being beat by a 16u team. This play allowed them to take the lead and win the game.

In my opinion the catcher giver the runner an avenue to avoid contact and slide into the base but she purposely initiates contact with the catcher which should have been an out at the plate.

But I am not an umpire.

The coach coming in and yelling at the kid was uncalled for though.

Wow...never seen anything like it. Out and an ejection right there. Easy call.

I'll be slightly contrarian ... I have a clean play. If anything, my first thought was a potential obstruction on the catcher, but I think she moved soon enough even though she was set up completely blocking the plate for a moment. The slide did not appear overtly malicious to me. I'm even letting the tangle go, and possibly giving a warning on the slight shove.

As soon as the helmet came off, I have an ejection on Dream Team #13.
As soon as the glove hit the ground and the player followed #13, I have an ejection Excel (?) #25.

I potentially have ejections on Dream Team 3rd base coach and Excel (?) #00 (that one may be a bit extreme). I don't have the volume up enough to make out what is being said by the coach. #00 appeared to turn back around and yell and point at the other team's bench. I may be wrong on these last two.

When I watch the video I see her sliding her legs towards the plate and her upper body into the catcher purposefully initiating contact. Which the rules I believe state the runner has to avoid contact with the fielder if she has a lane to the plate. I may be wrong on that as I am not an official.

I thought the slide was a little aggressive, but ok, UNTIL I rewatched it with the screen size maximized and saw her hands go for the shove as she begins the slide. Shameful!

Interesting ... I have #13 ejected for the shove prior to the start of the slide ... See what you think ... It happens quick, pause the video.
