I don’t follow him. Betts really stretches well. Starts before toe touch. Turner has the hands forward, He can only TTB from his position, barrel goes rearward. Can’t get the hands forward if they started there.

So he is not TTB?

His early batspeed is weak. His gets to a point where it eventually must turn. But, no not great at TTB.

This is better TTB, early batspeed and extension results. Better square contact.

To me a player needs to enter in the zone on plane as early as possible. I believe torque aids in that. Launch to contact is less than 150 milliseconds.

WW, the contraction really connects the dots for those that want to understand the "down to" the pros speak of..

Great example of the rear leg not driving into the lead leg.

So, the rear leg does not drive into the front side when he actually launches here? I know its a demo. If you are referring to his rear leg not driving into the front leg during his sequence to foot down. Then I 100% agree and is what is trying to be accomplished by either pattern.

Getting the shift out of the way leveraged fyb buys one time (slows the ball down) to get the barrel in the zone controlled.

The rear leg is part of all available resources but not the primary driver.
I don't think of it as the only driver. I think its certainly a part of it. I look at it as the leg, hip, back, and stretched core that is contracted as well.

Edit: I also believe though that the rear leg should go first. I think though how well one is efficient to do is going to be determined by their weight distribution at foot down. Some are 60/40, some are 50/50 etc.

You stated yesterday when I asked what is the weight distribution once a player is fyb. You stated 60/40, 50/50 etc. , but once they get there then the shift is over and complete then the contraction of the core happens.

How did they "shift" to 60/40? Was it something different before they shift to 60/40? 60/40 or even 50/50 is a common weight distribution during stances etc. Granted some start upright, open etc. So for example a player starts 60/40, do they shift to say 50/50 or would they try to maintain 60/40 by simply picking up and putting down so that they don't shift their weight across their pelvis?
