Why are there not rental places for canopies, wagons and lawn chairs for these big out of state tournaments? We are flying and won’t be able to purchase all the equipment we need for a week of games.
What do other people do when they attend fly away tournament ?
What do you do with the equipment you purchased when you fly home?

That is a good question, need to think about it but might be a good business opportunity.. We had a canopy which I sure we could have named our price for some games.

I guess my family has been lucky in that we really haven't had issues with getting equipment when we've had to fly for a tournament. I've only had to really fly to Texas and Florida for tournaments. Thankfully, I have family in both states where we could use spare lawn chairs and canopies for when I've had to travel to play. But now in college, I'm flying to Florida multiple times a season as well as to North and South Carolina. I think (and I could be totally wrong) there are places you can rent canopies but I can't swear to it. I've never seen chairs but I think there is other things that can be rented for like tailgating or something like that.

I'm in GA and there's always a few families who decide to drive and make a trip of it. If you're really lucky, they might volunteer to rent a small u-haul trailer (with everyone chipping in for the rental fee) and use it to drag the team Bownets, players' equipment and a few tents/chairs. I personally wouldn't make the drive from Atlanta to Denver, for example, but I've known several people who have done it.

ETA: When we went to CO, we bought a couple of super cheap-y chairs at Wal-Mart and then gave them to some random college kids when we were filling up the rental car on the way back to the airport. You can also buy a backpack that is a stealth cooler and it holds enough beverages for a day. We bought this one and took with us:

Last time on an airplane trip, left my chairs in the rental car trunk and gave them to the person that checked our car in at the airport along with the cooler I bought for the week.

I'm guessing you are new to travel tourneys. Parents that make the trips usually forego all those things. That's one reason it's so expensive to make these trips. I carried a backpack cooler with those freezer bags. They freeze in the hotel over night and keep few drinks cool. Sun screen and you are good to go. The camp followers with the big wagons, big coolers, chairs and ez-ups usually stayed local or learned to travel light.

Not sure about other parts of the country, but anywhere I have lived there ARE places that rent canopies, folding chairs, ice coolers, pretty much anything you might find at, say, an outdoor wedding? Try 'party rentals' for the city you are travelling to. Found over a half dozen in Gainesville in about 2 minutes, just as an example.
