*sigh* I guess it's true what it says on the container of Morton's Salt..."When it rains, it pours". Let me tell the story of my crappy week so far.

Monday, I got a call from my PCP's office to set up a follow-up appointment from my visit to the ER in York County for my injured ankle. I get the appointment set up and think everything's good. Later that day, I get a call from our local orthopedist's office saying there was a cancellation for Wednesday afternoon asking if I could come in and have them do a follow-up on what the York County hospital did for their exam when I got my walking boot.

Tuesday, in the morning, I went out for breakfast with some friends I haven't seen since Christmas. I had known for a little while that the beloved Jeep that I've had since, like, my sophomore year of high school was starting to go downhill, and have had little minor problems pop up. I should have known these "minor" problems were the lead up to something major...kinda like the minor earthquakes that precede a major volcanic eruption. I knew the vehicle was making noises and stuff and I was kinda nervous to drive the Jeep back from Lancaster County. But did so okay even though I was kinda white-knuckling it when I'd drive on the highway. So, I'm out with friends and the French Toast with a double side of sausage, a cinnamon roll and coffee was amazing. Went to start the Jeep to leave -- and the Jeep wouldn't start. I tried for half an hour to no avail. Finally got ahold of a tow company to haul the Jeep and I home and a hundred and so dollars later. Now I'm searching for a new vehicle to drive back to school *groan*. I'm thinking about maybe getting a Kia but am not sure what I should go with.

So, now today. I have to rely on my sister to drive me to the orthodontist's office in her VW Bug this morning. Thankfully, I get there twenty minutes early thinking I'm just having a follow-up and everything will be fine. I knew I was a dummy but I didn't think things were going to be as bad as they were. My orthodontist knew something was wrong because my teeth had shifted because in one of my less than intelligent moments allowed my retainers to be thrown out in the trash because I didn't think I had them in my napkins because I was a dummy and didn't go back to my dorm to grab my retainer case instead of going straight to the dining hall. I also heard about the jewelry in my mouth and how it will ruin my teeth. If you want to know the story of how that happened, DM me on here and I'll tell the story. My parents and sister don't know about it and I'd rather keep it that way. Anyways, I'm told I should have braces, again, and should think about it fairly soon. Then in the afternoon, I had an appointment with the orthopedist. They took off my walking boot and did their own X-Rays and CT scans of my ankle. I sat in the doctor's office and awaited the results. Come to find out, there are a couple of fractures along with minor tears of the cartilage in my ankle. The doctor said I should have had a cast instead of a walking boot. You can imagine my depression now that I'm looking at a purple cast on my leg, which I'll have for the next several weeks, instead of a walking boot which would be more manageable. Thankfully, my cast is waterproof. So, I can at least go swimming.

I feel like banging my head off the wall and crying. *sitting in the corner banging head off of the wall and trying to gently weep*

Sorry gabby, if it helps, after my week also, I wouldn’t mind sitting in the same corner with you!

Told one of my guys yesterday that I need something like a 10 day vacation…..ALONE!!

It’ll get better, I promise! The one thing about young ladies like yourself, who’ve made it to the next level playing ball, you’re tough, already been through a lot of hard and stressful situations playing this game for years, it’s absolutely going to help you in crappy situations you’ll face in adulthood!

Just breathe!

Gabby, this stuff only prepares you for the onslaught of real life later...you will get beat down, but you have to keep your chin
up and keep going. Everything is only a speed bump.

A car is a car...no biggie. BUT as I have learned, you gotta take care of it once you see or hear issues right away. Those little issues
turn into big issues. And sometimes, the car has to be put to rest.
