I'm probably going to take some grief for this post, but I'm making it anyway. My son had a huge problem with bat drag. We solved it in a matter of weeks using a homemade version of the Bat Drag Buster. The commercial version is here: https://baseballrebellion.com/produ...cjzMnsVyjTgBb3Gnd6U1gJAesr-0ulL8aAqErEALw_wcB. However, I made one myself with some $5.00 ankle straps from Academy Sports (https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/gofit-tube-band-ankle-strap-with-carabiner?repChildCatid=882604) and some rubber bands. You can find some Youtube videos on how to use the Bat Drag Buster and/or a cheap homemade knock-off. It worked, and it worked quickly.

All of that being said, I would not solve the problem the same way again. The device teaches a very "connected" type swing, which most people probably applaud. It teaches the hitter to basically just hold the arm position the hitter has at launch, with the exception of the rear elbow coming down to the side. The reason I wouldn't correct the problem that way again is because I have since evolved into believing that the hands need to be actively used in the swing, like throwing the hands/knob toward the ball. I would suggest (and this is likely where people would disagree) that your daughter should be taught to throw the knob and/or her hands at the ball. It's not possible to both correctly throw the knob at the ball and have bat drag.

But, if you want a "connected" swing that minimizes the use of the hands, the Bat Drag Buster or your own cheap homemade knockoff will do the trick. At least it did for my son.

Here are a couple examples of a drill DD has worked on that she has gotten some success out of. I hadn't seen or heard of it til last fall. Some say they don't like it some do.

Interesting, I've never seen that drill before. Probably would have tried that had I been aware of it.

Have not seen very many videos where someone isn't trying to strut or sell their stuff. :ROFLMAO:

I agree with @jamesd1628

Try working on "pulling" the knob with some bottom hand drills. My son had the same issue. We really work on "bottom hand" drills before I have him hit. Telling the batter to use your hands isn't popular, but I believe your options are to teach to pull the knob with the bottom hand or to "turn the triangle" with a connected swing. You can find videos on "turning the triangle" as well.

I think it probably depends on how your ball player responds to the cue. I tell my son to to pull the knob and his bat drag goes away; he no longer initiates the elbow.
