Today Haley turns 17 so following Eric’s lead I’m starting a new thread.

I had posted this home run swing and also sent it in to Richard to analyze. Here is his thoughts of her swing.

Parents should know the risks associated with the 2 pivot pattern.. Mike is doing just fine without Dick's approval.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, much appreciated.

if you listen to his assessment of her swing and look at this at bat, you can see what he describes she is doing.

She’s all in as to hitting this way. She has developed more power than she ever thought was possible for her size . If it translates at the next level remains to be seen. For now, we’re refining and focusing on timing.

I see a risk with weighing the front foot to early and having the hands drop or push forward with no ability to control it or the shoulders rotating to early leaving the outer half of the plate exposed because of a circular bat path.

it’s been my experience that every hitting method has advantages and if overcooked disadvantages. Haley struggles with popping up and everyone goes nuts when it happens but the girl that grounds out 10 times in a row is praised for a level swing. There’s one thing in the outfield that no defense can stop..... that’s the fence.

my joke to Haley is “What do you call a 220 ft pop up.”
