    Low cost glove

OP - Have you checked used and refurb gloves from Amazon? I got a 15in glove in practically new condition for $25 a couple of years ago...

Fouts pitching out of her glove.

Thank you! I had no idea about that. I'd like to think that Bama wouldn't saddle themselves with meaningless "qualifications" and just hire the best candidate for the job. I have no idea if that's the case.

Fouts pitching out of her glove.

Appreciate the explanation. I read that Fouts' dad is a pitching coach and I remember her saying he still gives her feedback. I also read that the Bama pitching coach started out as a behind-a-net batting practice pitcher for Missouri (I think) when Doug Gillis was the pitching coach...

Real interest or being played to fill a camp?

I love your fictional school. I humbly suggest replacing Stanford with the Bates Bobcats. Bates boasts high academics. Bates offers a much greater softball contrast to OU than Stanford. Most importantly, your fictional camp visit can now take place at Norman Bates.

    Pitching lessons

A few years ago, someone posted this advice:: "Go to Pauly Girl Fastpitch and purchase a video analysis. Best $50 I've spent in a while. 1 Hour Skype session with tools sent after. Rick is an incredible instructor. " (paulygirlfastpitch.com) I didn't follow up but every review I read...

What is the little box (~1in x 1/2in) in Odicci Alexander's back left pocket?

I can't imagine it's anything that would help her play better. Any ideas?

    Umpire Guidelines for Covid Softball

Awesome video, TMIB! I'm curious--are all (as far as you know) umpires trained to put their eyes at the top of the strike zone and call pitches above their eye level high? It seems like a neat mechanic. I've attended several umpire clinics my kids participated in and don't remember this being...

    Internal rotation early? Spin trouble

Doug Gillis spends a fair portion of this video explaining why he prefers a slight step across the center line and how to work toward that end. Are you saying the pitcher's step over (in the OP) is so excessive that it should be corrected?

Any miracles? Hitting hip: good pitcher to poor pitcher in 2 weeks

Been there with 2 daughters. Can't promise the same results for you but this worked like a miracle for my daughters: The fast way to get the timing right is for your daughter to practice pitching the ball into her own glove. I believe you'll both find that she can achieve good I/R and brush...

    Uniforms over multi day tourney

Send her into the shower with her uniform, let her use soap/shampoo to wash and rinse the uniform. Wring/drip dry the wet uniform pieces the best you can immediately after shower. Get extra towels from room service. Lay a towel flat on the floor, lay the pants on the towel and roll the towel...

    Rich balswich pitching video

Not sure what you're talking about. I just saw them in my area this weekend.

Paige Lowary - Talk About Velocity!

TLDR - based on frame counts, I think 75 on that pitch is plausible. When practical, I gun my dds pitches from behind the umpire with a pocket radar. She frequently hits 59, occasionally 60 and in one game she hit 61 three times. I've learned to expect ~14 frames from hand to bat at 30 fps...

    The Kelly Barnhill Thread

I found myself doing that in the WCWS last year. I am an SEC homer and no fan of Oklahoma (not for softball reasons). But I found myself hoping Florida would lose. Watching a Florida game with Barnhill pitching is like watching Olympics gymnastics in the 1970s with a US gymnast and Russian...

another critique my daughter video if anyone has time

Thanks for the review. I might do that. I looked at a it couple of years ago but was unsure of how to proceed or what kind of feedback she would get. So I appreciate the review. I'm inept at computer stuff so trying to set up a Skype session looks daunting.
