I would guess that for girls in the 10-14 age range that most of the questions here seem to originate from - they can see themselves more in a female pitcher - and it’s easier to think about replicating their movement. Just like you don’t see little league boys being told to hit like Alo. When...
Spin off- but what do you carry to games.
I’m pretty basic. I have a few instant ice packs, bandaids, gauze, vet wrap, ibuprofen and Benadryl. Plus feminine supplies.
I believe vet wrap can fix most things temporarily- but curious what others pack.
Yikes! We have a nurse parent on our team that handles most injuries and also does the book and is always there.
In this situation it should have been an immediate call to 911 imo.
It’s not reasonable to expect a parent to be there at all games. Scary to think there are not better...
I’m guessing the coding is a lot easier to use they for all sports. Probably some 45 year old guy playing softball got called she and a case of bud didn’t shake the feeling and he demanded a fix - so they changed it for all sports.
This photo is super helpful!!! Thank You!
Looking at this it appears she has decent upper arm brush- but a little too much elbow bend so is missing lower arm brush- there’s a gap between her forearm and thigh - and she’s whipping around in that space rather than forward through it.
I really...
We usually start the day with eggs (at home usually an evol breakfast burrito from Costco). Then bring turkey sandwiches and some fruit and veggies and some crap - cause you have to have some fun. One mom on our team makes the best banana bread and brings it every weekend. The girls love it...
That’s really helpful! How do you balance getting the arm to the side without getting the elbow stuck behind the back? I think that’s the space she’s stuck in. She goes from getting it stuck behind her back to too far away when she tries to fix it.
I’m reading through the BI thread to see if we can get that more consistent to help. We worked on it yesterday. Does anyone have advice on BI on a tall very skinny kid that’s all knees and elbows? There just doesn’t seem to be great places to contact and everything is bony.
I’m not seeing this with my daughter’s rec program teammates. She played rec only through 12s (well she played 14s- but was 12, and they do have spring and fall). She’s a late birthday kid but a bunch of her teammates made varsity as freshmen and were good hitting contributors having never...
Have you looked at trail running shoes? They have soles with solid nubs - somewhere between turf shoes and cleats. My daughter used them before we got turf shoes.
She tries. She doesn’t get mad at the umps but sure can get mad at herself.
She’s good at analyzing the zone the ump is calling - but just can’t always make it happen.
Some of it is just skill and experience- she was on a C team last year and is playing a mix of A and B tournaments this...
She has suggested a sports psychologist and also that it will come with time and experience and some days it just will not be there. And she points out her older kids are not perfect and she should watch college ball and see that even those kids are making mistakes.
She is reading sports...
Thanks!
I have another clueless question- what is the USSSA national tournament? My daughter’s team played a usssa tournament and won and now it says qualified next to their team name- but when I google it a list of like 20 tournaments all with nationals in the name pop up.
