A the best softball glove for a short stop is...

the leather feels so supple, than when the kids throw hard at me it really stings my hands. I am not/never been an advanced player. but to your point, i am just catching to not get hit, rather than focusing on where the ball hits.

very good point. I should be completely clear about my history. I hate softball and baseball. I hate watching it, etc... I never played it. In all the sports i've ever been around i've never spent so much money. Bats 350-500??? Yearly/Every other year! Gloves, cleats, bags, expensive...

you are right.. but she was using the same glove from her Firecracker Rico days. (you'll find old pics) and even though shes on the wilson player board, and yes she tried to sell the softball gloves.. she still uses the trusty 87 when its time to ball.

I recently reached out to one of the best to do it (paid her for her time), and she provided a lot of guidance for the kid.. but one of the questions we asked was.. what does someone who does it so well use? wish i got to her a few years earlier. Like i said.. this post is for someone like...

rawlings 204 pattern in 11.5 I web and rawlings 205 in 11.75 bar web. the rawlings pockets are not innovative enough. The ball rolls around and the fingers run long. The wilson has the candy cane pocket (almost like it wants to be a upside down J), that tightness creates a special pocket.

my wife said i'm not allowed to speak to you, because she holds you responsible for the glove addiction. j/k. you were sooo helpful annas dad midway through the journey. I'm looking for an excuse to buy one of the kids a horween because of you. my only concern with those.. the leather is...

Okay, so i've spent over $5,000 on gloves over the course of my kids playing careers, and here is what i would have said to my younger self or to my family members who don't have the means to trash money to experiment... Just buy this one glove at age 10+ The best softball glove for a short...

    Bruce Bolt batting gloves

we're on our 8th pair between two kids. The kids burn through them just as fast as Franklin gloves. but 50 vs 80.. i just close my eyes and eat the cost. The kids like the slightly thicker leather of the bolts.

    CLOCKING YOUR DD

my advice. every single pitch. you can't manage what you don't measure and eventually they'll never feel pressure if they know its always on. you'll just gamify the experience for them.

USE PLAYER VIDEO FOR TRAVEL BALL TRYOUTS

i've been anti social media my whole life.. No facebook, twitter, etc.. At first, it was because i wasn't impressed with it, then it was because i saw people turn into lemons using it, and now because its all the violation of trust. We're extending that policy to our kids. Do we stand any...

When and how did you know?

yeah. my problem is i'm the opposite. I don't see her potential (she's probably going to end up 5-3" and searching teams for uni's she wants to attend have max 1 or 0 players at that height). I tried to get to quit, but she keeps progressing and doesn't want to go quit. She also wants to...

    Custom glove experiences??

hey LRH, I feel like i can relate to you on this topic. We have 3 custom rawlings gloves, 1 regular rawlings HOH glove, 1 44 brand 9" trainer glove, two pancake trainers gloves, and 2 Wilson A800 gloves which my wife and I use to practice with the kids. The only reason I get custom gloves, is...

When and how did you know?

Hey folks, When and how did you know your child was capable of playing at the next level? Was it the drive of practicing daily without proding? Was it the amount of home run balls blasted? Was it a physical thing? ie 5-10, 145lb 12 year old, etc.. Was it batting average? Was it playing in a...
