Yes, 4D Motion sensors will measure rotational arm speed, and just as importantly deceleration. Find a coach or a facility in your area that has it and you should be able to get the info you need.

If you're really committed to taking regular measurements they have individual modules that can probably do what you need for a reasonable price. This one would probably do what you need it to do.

Okay, I’ll ask…why do you want to know the rotational arm speed?

I get that it could relate to pitching speed, but ask Ken pointed out, it’s also the stop and converting that momentum into pitching velocity.

I honestly didn’t check my daughters pitching speed that much. Her pitching coach would check every few months, but I don’t know what he did with that info other than tell her and write it down.

The upper arm for sure needs to decelerate when it contacts the body to create the lower arm whip.

That and the front-side resistance is what transfers the momentum from the windmill and the leap into the whip…which translates to pitch velocity (in theory). Or at least that’s the way I think of it.
