Did I screw up my daughter's 1st base mitt?

I've actually been using three in the pinky stall of the HOH catcher's mitt. It's designed for two in there already, so with it being so stuff, the third finger makes it easier to close. It also takes my index finger even further out of harms way.
I’m sure you know the “NP” pattern is my favorite, I love the 12” NP6. It’s a old school single break heel, definitely designed for a traditional grip. There’s three TIP gloves here.

By the way, I like the one with green accents that you designed.

I started doing the same thing with the Vinci for the same reason. I moved my index finger into the middle finger slot. I had to really loosen the wrist because of the angle my hand has to go in. I'm a little worried it may rip the glove off of my hand if I catch a heater in the tip of the web.

I've tried getting my daughters to use the TIP method, but they both say it's uncomfortable. I had to loosen the wrist straps, too. I never thought of the angle until I was putting three in that pinky slot.

All 3 of my girls use baseball gloves and have no issues catching softballs. Biggest reason we use baseball gloves is bc the internals are better than the same softball glove in the same model glove.
I used my new Rawlings Heart of The Hide baseball catcher's mitt to catch for my daughter today. The mitt is just starting to loosen up, but because I've broken it in for softball, it handles the larger ball with no issues.

I'm a convert. Baseball gloves and mitts work fine for softball and are made better.

What "Internals" are you talking about? Padding?

Funny story.... My DDs TB coach told me she bent his wedding ring with a fastball a couple of years back while he was warming her up.... he uses a baseball catchers mitt. I've caught her 1000s of times more than he has, and my wedding ring is still perfectly round. I use a Rawlings custom fastpitch mitt...

FWIW...
