Just me bragging a little on my baby.
My DD set a goal back in the summer after coming in 2nd place in the pitching speed contest at Gulf Shores to hit 45 before her birthday. Last night with less than a week before her birthday she succeeded hitting 45. She was beyond excited and I was so happy for her.

Congrats to her!

I also need to hear more about softball at Gulf Shores........
USSSA tournament they have every year I believe in July. It is going to rain almost every day at some point. It is going to be 125 degrees for the opening ceremonies. It is however a good place for a vacation, the girls seem to really enjoy it, and it was decent softball with teams from all over eastern half of country.

It is an enjoyable week even with the rain and the traffic. The fields we played on were enclosed in trees and very little breeze was getting through, so it was really hot and sticky. Our bracket got rained out, which sucked, but at least there was a beach and beach drinks to ease the pain.

We enjoy the gulf coast, been enjoying it a lot longer than we been playing softball. Put them both together and it really is a good time.

The only year my DD's team played there it was touch and go whether it was even going to happen. Hurricanes, Red Tide (beaches closed) and the had to fly in to FL and drive to the tourney due to airport closures. Ugh. My DW went with them on that one otherwise I'd probably be complimenting the beach drinks.

Congrats to your DD on 45!!
