Big Congrats!!! Now the hard work starts. I always say getting a commitment is the easy part. Staying committed is the hard part. Still 2 years away from stepping on campus.

Well it’s official! My girls has accepted an offer from the University of KY. Go cats! So beyond proud of her. Going to enjoy the moment for a minute then back to the grind.
That's awesome, congratulations! We live about 6 hours from UK but love going to watch them play when we get a chance!

Yep…she’s enjoying the moment for a minute and then back to the grind. Lots of work to do to be ready to compete freshman year

Enjoy it for more than a minute, it’s an incredible accomplishment and is a result of all the hard work that your DD (and the family) has put in. At this point the “grind” is probably normal.

We never really talked about playing time with my DD, we just wanted to get to the finish line and get the commitment. It kind of hit me after. She’s been at school for about a month now (Big10) and she has made quite the first impression (pitcher). She even got the first start of the fall last weekend and did not disappoint.

Congratulations!

We played against Alexia when she played for Team LI and Newtown Rock. Great pitcher and athlete!

Angispeds - congratulations to your dd! So exciting for your family!
We played with TLI, so that is where we played with her. Congrats again!

Moot point now, but sounds like Dunning-Kruger effect (at least I think that is what it is called). In my view it is better to underestimate your ability than to overestimate it. YMMV.

Congrats to your daughter and UK. That seems like a solid school.
Actually, Dunning-Kruger makes one "overestimate", and everyone sees it but that person.

Great write-up.
"I honestly really worry about how my generation will be on their own. I feel like people are very dependent on their parents now."

Wise young lady.

Congrats to your daughter, and to your family. Hard work pays off. I wish her great success.
