The other power hitter on our team with a Meta broke it at this weekends tournament. Something let go on the inside. Very significant rattle when you shook it. At this point I would rather have it replaced by an LXT.

My DD's bat did the same thing. Louisville originally had a backorder date of 6/3 but it looks like they sent it from another seller and got it to us about 2 weeks ago. No issues with the exchange. I made sure that I put a very detailed description on the bat, on the website, and with the address label. Because it was in good looking condition otherwise.

We have two bats in for warranty claim. She had a Zeno that was purchased just short of a year ago where the connection got loose. You already know about the Meta.

My daughter loved the Meta and really liked the Zeno. But I would have just bought a ghost advanced had I known the Meta wouldn’t hold up.

Right now she is using the coaches daughters old high school 2019 LXT 33 drop 10. Head coaches DD just finished her first year playing as a true freshman in division one college ball. She lead for high school team in home runs her senior year. Her old well used LXT still has a ton of pop and is showing no signs of slowing down. Very impressed with it and my daughter says she feels no difference in pop from her Meta. Results last weekend confirm that “feeling”.

I have 2 girls and my oldest got her Meta at the beginning of march., it broke at the end of April. Finally got it sent back to Slugger and after almost 3 weeks they shipped another. Received now Meta on May 24, took it out of package May 26, took 18 cuts off the T with it to start breaking it in and it broke. Good thing is she still has an old PXT and her Zeno she can swing but decided to go to a 34 drop 8 LXT (after the horrible Slugger warranty process) after taking a couple BP's with another girls bat.
My youngest had a Ghost Advanced last year. First one broke in about 3 months the second one broke in about 2 weeks. Its been in her bag since the second replacement came, letting a couple of the slappers hit with it. She has since switched to either a Zeno 33 drop 8 or Mantra 34 drop 9 depending on how she feels that day.
I will say dealing with Easton and getting the bats replaced were much easier and faster entire process from claim to ship to new one in hand was less than 10 days both times. But she shattered both bats at the connection so there was no question about it being broke.

Received this email regarding the warranty on the Meta today at 12:38. They gave me a voucher for the other warranty claim on the Zeno. I used that towards a new 33 inch drop 10 LXT which I just got through ordering. Seems their advice is to replace the Meta drop 10 with a drop nine and hope for the best. Going forward counting on the historical reliability of the LXT. The Meta is a good bat if it would just last a while.

Thank you for contacting Louisville Slugger. Good afternoon. I have just completed your warranty claim. Based on the big crack on the barrel I would suggest looking into a different drop weight. Based on the short time you have had it, I believe that if you got the same drop weight the same thing may happen. It looks like your player is ready to advance. Now this is merely a suggestion based on my inspection of the bat. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you,

I’m not buying what Brandy is selling.

No way, no how.

Get the bat you think is the best size for your dd, ignore the advice of a cs rep given by email by a person who has never seen your dd swing a bat.

DD has an old 33-9 for BP and cage work. I’m not afraid of her swinging a drop nine against anyone but the harder throwers in her age division at the competitive tournaments. If the heavier drop weight is more durable I am all for it. Our only issue with the Metta is the question of durability.

Lol. It’s not.

As a reformed “-8 Dad”, I can tell you not to bother.

Adding one more thing- if D1 bomb droppers can swing -10 bats without breaking them, some one should tell CS Brittany that hs and pre hs players can too.

Our head coach’s DD I previously spoke about says quite a few bats on her team broke during the season. D1 Rawlings team swinging Mantras. I imagine it happens quite a bit and we just don’t hear about it.

She did say they use the same bat for everything. So it’s not like they had a BP bat and a gamer.

One of weakest hit consistent hitters on my DD 14u team broke the meta after 20 games. Manager at local sporting goods store who has a demo cage says meta core will broke loose if your player can reach the fence.

Dd #2 is on a Louisville/Wilson team. (Dd #1 was on an Easton team, she had a career ending injury the year before the Ghost came out.) They have an older bat as a practice bat and a gamer they only use for warmups and games. By my count, about half LXT and half Xeno none of whatever the “Ghostbuster” is supposed to be.

They break surprisingly few bats, they hit a lot, hit a ton of machine dimples and machine stitch balls. (Gasp! No!) The one weekend they broke a lot of game bats was warming up at Arizona. For some reason the balls provided were bat destroyers. That was off of front toss and live arm pitching.

I see an awful lot of grey ghosts on opposing teams that look like they got dragged behind the team bus…. They ain’t new. It’s not nice and this advice isn’t always taken in the spirit of tough love that it is intended, but I think quality of contact is a deciding factor in most bat breakages. No, 14 year old phenoms are not hitting the ball harder than a 21 year old in a p5 conference who spends every day lifting and hitting for the last three years. I also think sometimes there is a ball quality issue. The thing that absolutely doesn’t matter is hitting a ball when the air temp is down to 49.5*. The other thing that doesn’t matter is hitting a good quality dimple ball.

Hit ‘em like you stole ’em. Wipe the dimple ball marks off ‘em and ‘em back when they break. Insure them if you can. There is no magic here, they all break, it’s a fact of life in 2022. (And it always has been. Good hitters broke the old Easton Stealth too. It was a tank.)

YMMV.
