BM,

A push is a symptom of a faulty load and shift. If the middle gets leveraged on time you won’t need to ‘push’(create force) bc the shift and stretch thereafter will ensue on time giving the hands leverage from the torso/shoulders. In reality the shift and stretch are the power source of the swing relative to the body. The ground definitely amplifies that. But you need both to have a good swing. If you try to manipulate the barrel late or early there isn’t as much power or efficiency. As of now your dd is doing it early.

@Borrowingminds do you see the slight shift of the pelvis back
then the move from the middle? This will leverage the middle first. Timing matters of course. But this will get her pelvis tilting in the right direction at start.

I would try to do this dry from a 50/50 balanced position first. Then try a tee, toss. See if she is still laying her bat flat before toe touch. It should dissipate. If not it might be her set up. Make sure angles of the spine and shins are close to the same and the pelvis line isn’t level to the ground but more angled towards the plate.

Lorenz basically loads the same way as Jr. fundamentally speaking.

Thanks @Work=wins for your time today.

We did a few swings before soccer this am, this was before any replies today. Not much different than before, but she was trying to move out from some from the middle, to get a later coil to create the stretch.

Is there anything to her posturing down before the move out, because she knows the ball height on the tee? Normally her move out would be fairly repetitive, with a later sit or posture adjustment as in the Jr clip? Would that throw a move out from the middle outta balance?

The pelvis needs to tilt more down hill, but in a natural way. Once this happens the abaf push pattern should stop. Her upper body will have a chance to load instead of rushing. Try to get some dorsiflexion in the ankles. It will assist w the move from the middle. Try hands back against the the back leg. I’ve posted it here a few times. If you can’t find it. I’ll explain it. It looks something like this.

once you can leverage wo leaking, things become a lot easier. Or FYB.

edit: the goal of this load is to shift against a STABLE rear leg, beating the hands back which will ensure the middle going forward before the hands and legs, essentially moving from the middle first. I have found doing this from a narrower stance when learning yields more control and feel. Once learned you can stand anyway you want.
