This Professor's view is that a kid can miss every one of my lectures. As long as he/she learns the material I don't care.. ;)
(obviously grade school is a little different than College but the basic premise is the same..)
You would have been my favorite professor.

Should my kid get to play college softball, I want her to have the flip of this scenario (what I had). To be able to say to her coach "Sorry, I can't make the trip to State on Thursday night, I have a huge bio test on Friday", and have coach be cool with it.

Since she won't be playing P5 softball, I have high hopes that this will work out. Though, for all I know this happens in P5 programs too - I have no idea.

"I previously asked if peer pressure is affecting this...
But even the OP didnt answer."

Not sure I understand the question but if the question is do I think that very gullible parents of 13 year old's feel pressure to pull their kid out of school to play ball on Friday with some kind of expectation that this is going to help them play college ball. Yes there is peer pressure.

Do you think this is the norm or a rarity? Do you think most parents are gullible?

Frankly who cares. If my kiddo survived the 3 months of BS e learning and then the next school year of intermittent e learning and classroom learning she will survive missing a day of school. She missed her entire first week of school for PGF this year because our school starts earlier than most. She got her assignments did some while we were gone got help with others when we got back. Went in early a few times when we got back for concepts she was confused about and still is doing very well. Its fine...really its fine....relax. If it bothers you that much don't go until Saturday. This life isn't for everyone

it's interesting when players get to college that there may be the predicament that the degree they want to get is either not offered at that college, or not offered to athletes that attend the college. There are quite often times that players are picking degrees that they wouldn't have otherwise sought.

No offense Rad but that is totally avoidable unless you make softball the priority..which is certainly a choice one is free to make.
