Finding playing time for 11 in 12u should be easy for the coach. At season end, find another team and broaden your softball skills. Dont rely solely on pitching. Not many scenarios where the #3 pitcher gets a lot of mound time. I think back thru the years 12u, 14u, 16u and now 18u for my DD..#3s dont see a lot of PT..broaden your skill set and keep grinding!!

DD plays on a 14u team, moving to 16u this fall, and HC gets all 4 of his pitchers a good amount of circle time.. it helps that they are 4 distinctly different types of pitchers (flame thrower, off speed drop ball specialist, off speed location pitcher, good speed with a lot of movement), so it can really screw the opposing hitteres off to go from flame thrower, little wild, to slow, off speed drop ball pitcher.

Yeah DD's (just finished 2nd year 12U) HC does a good job of getting everybody time. Innings for the three pitchers this last season was 93,90 and 52.

DD was promised that circle time would be roughly equal, but it turned out that P1 got about 70% of the innings, P2 got 25%, and DD got the rest. Now that DD has left the team, P1 gets about 80-85% of the innings and P2 gets the rest.

We're pretty glad this team is in our rear view mirror.

Yeah, I mean there isn't a huge difference between the 1 and 2 pitchers on her team (they actually flipped that distinction about halfway through the year as I think one of the kids has something going on with her knee which has effected her) and the #3 isn't too far off. None of them are dominant but they all are pretty good. That has probably made it easier for him to get them all innings.

our team it was 34%, 27%, 25%, and 15%, and the P with 15% missed a few weeks of pitching with injury issues (still played most games, but was not able to pitch). HC really pretty much just tolled through them 1,2,3,4 as far as starting, and would bring in relief when needed based on what was happening. generally not much relief needed, as if a P was doing well, they would have short innings and get to 6 or 7, otherwise we normally only played 5 innings or less.
