I notice that neither FSU or Oklahoma started the series with their statistically best pitchers. Watson had a great outing. May, not so much. I know that Gasso has confidence in her team's ability to fight back, but I am also sure she wanted to win game 1.

Gasso is the sharpest mind in softball. Candrea gets a lot of accolades because of Olympic experience, but Gasso wins the race in my opinion

Nothing was wrong with Fouts.....other than she ran up against a hot, well oiled FSU team who could have cared less about her perfect game! Not tonight slim!

Totally agree, plus it is really hard to back up a perfect game with another strong performance. How many times do you see a PGA Tour golfer follow a crazy low round with something Much higher.

It seems like nobody wanted to criticize Gasso for sending that runner late in the game. I may have the details off a little, but Down by four with 1 out, there was no reason to send her. The commentators even seem to praise the decision a Little by saying they didn’t expect the relay to be so good. These are high-level college players, it wasn’t a tough relay.

I realize there would be a price to pay if someone on espn criticized her, but not for me on a message board. 😂. Not that it would’ve mattered in the end, but that was a horrible decision by a 3B coach.

If you watch her outings from the SEC championship through the perfect game as each game passed she was losing accuracy. Still outstanding, but she was floating pitches. The accumulation of a season rears its ugly head at the wrong time, every time

I've been working with a group of collegiate catchers teaching them how to read pitchers in the bullpen. Thats the only reason I paid attention. Shes was one we were tending to

“As each game passed, from the SEC tournament through the perfect game, she was losing accuracy.” 625ender.

In the perfect game, Fouts was so inaccurate that she had 14 k’s and 0 bb’s. She was so inaccurate that 7 batters were able to put bat to ball, including 2 flyouts and 5 groundballs. She was so inaccurate that she threw one of the great games in CWS history.

Well, our trip to OKC is coming to an end. Although I would love to attend game 3, our trip home is today. In fact, we will likely be in the air when the game starts. Here are some reflections on our trip.

* The World Series is an awesome event to attend. The people, the atmosphere, the games. Everything about it has been enjoyable. Sure I could nit pick on a few things. Over the top cheering from the home crowd (very definitely a home field advantage at this event). Weather that is leading to us missing game 3. But these are minor and don't take away from our enjoyment here.
* The city itself is beautiful. I'm used to the older larger cities like New York, Philadelphia, etc. And while they have a certain charm of their own, OKC just seemed cleaner and better maintained overall.
* The Oklahoma City Memorial is an absolute must for anyone visiting the city. While the design is simple, you can tell that a lot of thought was placed into every aspect of it. Very powerful memorial.
* Excellent food. We visited Billy Sims BBQ, Nic's Grill, and Upper Deck Pizza and enjoyed all 3.

Overall it has been a great trip and we hope to do it again at some point. If you are a hardcore softball fan or have a daughter that is, I would highly recommend making the trip if you are able. My biggest disappointment is that we will not be able to see the final game.
