Runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Batter lines the ball down 3rd base line and strike runner in what appears to be foul territory, BUT the runner toes of her right foot are touching the chalk. Ump call runner out and award batter with a base hit. Is that right?

Depends on where the umpire judged the ball to be at the time it contacted the batter. If the ball was over the line, that is in fair territory and if the runner was not on the base and was in front of the fielder it is a dead ball out.

Took a bit to find it... Bottom of the 1st with one out.
This is umpire judgment whether or not the ball was over fair territory. (ETA: the chalk is fair.)

Cape Cod Mass.
I saw this play and we don't really know what the umpire called but I think it was that the runner was hit in fair territory, she gave the batter first base. I have question about a variation of this play. What if the ball and runner were in foul territory, so it would have been ruled a foul ball but the 3rd baseman, who was playing on the line and behind the base was diving and could have caught the line drive? Would the runner be ruled out for interference?

I won’t mince words.

The umpiring in this series has been somewhere between awful and atrocious.

Plate ump called it fair. She then did nothing. Pandemonium ensued.

Edited to add...... we thought it was pandemonium but we were wrong. The REAL pandemonium with a Capitol P was waiting right around the corner.

@Westwind they made the right call simple as that. Been watching the whole serie and the umps have been fine IMHO. Auburn doing their thing and winning. Agree with you that pandemonium did NOT incur. Not even close.

I couldn't help but chuckle when Rachel Lawson was ejected from the game and had to walk through the stands to exit... same thing happened with Patrick Murphy recently. Interesting setup that these amazing stadiums don't have locker room facilities attached to their dugouts.
