His reputation proceeds him. He has been the varsity coach for over 20 years and the stories of his intransigency are well known

It's his lack of knowledge about the game that gives her reason to doubt his advice. When she joined the new organization last fall, with a great reputation, she had every reason to trust what she was being taught, and had no problems adapting.
He has been the varsity coach for 20 years and he doesn't have a clue about the game? Bob, you need to grab that young lady of yours and get her out of that program. You have a troglodyte coaching her who apparently is dumber than his shoes. He will ruin your dd. As they say in monopoly, don't pass go and don't collect $50. Get her out of there while she can still play the game.

What I should've said yesterday is how excited she was when she moved to her new organization. She would get in the car after practice and tell me all the things she learned, that she never learned from her previous organization.

She is hungry to learn, from coaches she sees know what they are talking about.
