Although frustratingly on JV, exciting none the less. Gave her the advice to keep working hard and hitting like she can and the varsity opportunities will come. Also, she needs work on her home run trot.

Nice! She really squared that one up. My DD is a freshman on JV as well. She was disappointed initially, but she gets to play every inning & lead off on the JV team and those opportunities just would not be there with so many older girls on varsity. Can't really complain from that perspective. She's had a few call ups to varsity, but so far they've only used her as a runner.

She and I both would rather have her playing JV than sitting the bench on varsity. There are a few girls that dress varsity when there is no JV game and she isn't currently one of them. The frustrating part to her is watching a third of the lineup on varsity hitting under .200 through 7 games against some weak competition and a coach unsure of how to use DP/Flex to make sure you have your 9 best hitters in the lineup. There have been games that having a big left handed bat to come off the bench could have been useful. It will work itself out eventually, until then she just needs to control what she can control.

Just an update. After 2 more JV games which included the hits off of the fence below, DD is now dressing varsity the rest of the season if there is no JV game. Works perfect to be able to be an every game JV player, and still get varsity opportunities (there are about 12 varsity games with no JV game not counting the tournament).
