did not want to start a new thread o this, but it fits in with applying tag and ball coming loose.
runner from 1B stealing 2B, field ump is in ine witth 2B-3B on outfield side, about 15 feet away from 2B. runner slides in throw is close, SS ends up with glove besides runner. I am looking from 1B towards 2B, can clearly see ball is not secure in glove (kinda sitting on top, glove is closed, ball is sittingon fingers side and outside of thumb kinda , but clearly not "in" glove. no call, we are waiting, FU asks to see ball. SS takes throwing hand, covers ball, and as she pulls glove up slide sit back in glove with rhtowring hand (throwing hand was not on glove at the time, clearly separated, if she had opened glove to get ball in without throwing hand, it would have rolled off). FU called her out.
when an ump is asking to see ball, if throwing hand is not already on glove, isnt moving it to the glove kinda a telltale that the ball was not secure in glove?
