So, I was umpiring an 18U "showcase" today, relatively high level, when in one of my 5 games the batter got hit with a batted ball while still in the batter's box. I immediately threw my hands straight up and yelled "dead ball!" And then I realized that I hadn't added, "Hit her in the box." I swear it was not intentional. I never thought of switching how I call it. But it was definitely the conversation here that caused that. I can't think of any other reason I would have unintentionally done that. Weird.
I DID use that 'add on' in my last game, but I was on the bases and the PU couldn't see it. When I yelled Dead Ball, he looked confused, so I "unconfused" him with the details.
